Meerlust - Rubicon        2008

Long recognized for producing world-class wines, The Meerlust Estate has been the pride of Stellenbosch since 1756. Their flagship Rubicon is very deep, youthful colour, intense almost purple hue. Very classic Rubicon nose with violets, ripe plum, cedarwood and intense spiceynesss. The palate is full bodied, structured but packed with fresh dark fruit and rounded, linear tannins. Ripe and dense, but sleek and focused, with a lovely core of mulled black currant, warm fig paste and tobacco, laced with mouthwatering dark olive and iron notes that help the finish stretch out nicely. A Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, Bordeaux blend.

X Meerlust – Chardonnay    2008

Most certainly ranked amongst the crème of the Chardonnay. Very bright, polished platinum with green, vivacious hue. Complex, appealing nose with quince, citrus and floral notes developing into lemon cream, oatmeal and marzipan richness. This wine is full bodied & generous, but still balanced by crisp acidity. There is ripe tropical fruit & creaminess balanced by a pure minerality typical of the varietal. The wine has a long , very pleasant lingering finish indicating the richness and persistence of the vintage.

Spier – Vintage Selection Pinotage      2011

The Premium Range of single varietal pinotage picked from Spier’s selected award-winning vineyard in Stellenbosch. The Vintage Selection Pinotage is built on cellar master Frans Smit's wine making philosophy. This wine is dark ruby in color with a mouth-watering cherry tobacco nose, layered with berry fruit and matured oak flavours. An abundance of cherry and tobacco follow through to a rich, chewy, creamy palate that shows a lingering finish.

Mulderbosch - Chenin Blanc     2008

It tastes elegant and has soft acidity, smacking of tangerine, lemon curd, toasted oak, orange blossom, a smidge of tropical flavours and stony minerality. Offers a creamy, delicious mouthfeel with an “old world” sophistication. This Mulderbosch Chenin Blanc was mistaken for a White Burgundy at a recent blind tasting… embarrassing all the certified sommeliers in attendance.

Spice Route - Pinotage     2009

Spice Route Pinotage is an opulent and bold expression of the varietal and is rich and full flavoured. Grapes are from an award-winning trellised vineyard in Swartland, in the Coastal Region of South Africa. The wine has perfumed plum aromas with subtle oak and spice notes. The palate is medium bodied to full bodied, with rich, blackberry fruit flavours. Aromas follow through to full lingering finish. Tannin and fruit are in good balance and the wine shows characteristic Swartland style.

KWV - Roodeberg

A medium bodied fresh red wine blended from the Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot and Petit Verdot grapes. With upfront blackcurrant, plum and strawberry aromas complemented by chocolate, liquorice and toasted nut flavours. The fruity palate is balanced, soft, fresh and juicy with integrated silky tannins. This wine is vibrant and layered on the palate, with hints of rose petal and minerality.
